DH and I had a swine flu jab this morning as we both handle our chickens and read that this was a 'high risk' group, so thought, why not. We took 13moDD with us to the surgery and the nurse asked if we wanted her done too - had to make a quick decision so said yes, but now am worrying as I hadn't really researched it/thought about it etc. Am I being silly to worry? What would you all have done?

Chickens? I haven't seen that mentioned on the hpa website.

DD had the SF vaccine in 2009 at 19 months. I chose to get her vaccinated because she had been in hospital previously with a respiratory infection and I am in a high risk group so I was getting the vaccine also.

DD has been totally fine.

I'd have done what you did. We haven't had any ill effects from our jabs in my family. I know not everyone agrees, but I've not heard of anyone dying from the jab, but I have from the flu.

Ditto. I would have done the same. No ill effects from flu jabs in my family either, apart from sore arm and bit of raised temp, easily brought down with Calpol, didn't last long.

Thanks all. Feel abit like you're damned if you do and damned if you don't!
