Yes. Go to A&E, they will do it for you. Wink

is it easy to see? i always seem to get things stuck in my feet - i resort to a needle and a magnifying glass but if that fails belles suggestion above is a gud un! good old minor injuries or A&E

TheBibiJesus · 04/01/2011 23:11

DH had this (although was in his heel), went to A&E, was told he was likely to be there all night with such a minor injury. Came home, I went at it with a pointy tweezers and a magnifying glass. It hurt, but I got it out.

depends on how busy your hospital is though bibi - ours is tiny and not busy and we are always in and out!

belledechocchipcookie · 04/01/2011 23:20

I'd go to A&E as it needs clean instuments to get it out. Not meaning to say you are slatern or anything though.

Magnesium sulphate paste.

alypaly · 05/01/2011 01:06

i'll second magnesium sulphate paste

CountessVonKnackerstein · 05/01/2011 19:35

It's out, yaay!! The problem was that I couldn't see it, so i resorted to good old daylight, picked off the top skin with a needle and got it with tweezers. Was teeny !
thank you for suggestions :)

Do you have a WIC or MIU near you?
These are the sort of places rather than a busy A&E unit to get small but annoying problems sorted out.
You will probably have a much shorter wait too.
Agree with the mag sulphate paste though. Put it on and then a plaster over it and see if it draws out the splinter of glass

Sorry countess, must be feeling tired and not noticed that you had got the glass out before I posted!
