Is there anyway to reduce Chicken pox scars?

My two ds had chicken pox over a month ago and are still covered in marks. One of them has particularly bad marks on his forehead and it looks as if he will have permanent holes there. Do you know any way to help these marks heal?

you could try the vitamin c capsules from body shop, they're excellent for stretch marks and blemishes. About £15 for 28 days worth, supposed to make a difference.

The capsules of vitamin E oil are meant to be good (the ones you're meant to swallow). Puncture, squeeeeeeeze and rub in.

I heard vitamin E capsules were good as well

Interesting , was going to post similar about dd who has 5 distinct pox marks 3 months on.

vitamin E oil or vitamin E capsules. I used to buy the capsules and burst them then rub the oil from them on my surgery scars. They work wonders. If you buy them from Asda they are usually only a couple of pounds or so. Hope this helps. There is also a product on the market called Bio oil which is supposed to be really good but its a little more expensive, about £10 a bottle.

A friend has been using Bio Oil on her ds who is 2, he has very deep scars from chicken pox and she swears they are becoming less noticable, I used bio oil while pregnant on my tummy to reduce stretch marks!

I have just got some Aloe Vera Gel and some Vit E oil, but the oil says it is not suitable for children . Maybe I will have to splash out for the bio oil

Are you sure the "not for children" doesn't mean for injesting? the capsules won't be suitable for swallowing (because the child could choke), but for piercing and squeezing onto the scars it'll be fine.

If you're at all not sure, go and have a chat to the staff in your health food store - I was advised that it's best to get food grade vit E oil (i.e. the capsules) because that's the purest form, so the best for putting on the scars.

(also you might find if it's not food grade vit e oil then it has other oils mixed in with it which might not be so suitable for sensitive skin)

Only just seen this thread. I was looking into it what to use on DD's chicken pox scars and have found that Rosehip oil is supposed to be very good for reducing scarring. There's a bit in today's Sunday Times about it. I got some organic stuff on Ebay for loads less than it says in the article. Only just started it so I can't say if much is happening yet.

Just wanted to add that after my ds gave my best friend a very severe case of chickenpox (she was NOT chuffed), she used vitamin E oil in a bottle. It's very sticky and gloopy, but worth the effort.

Because she is black her scars appeared to be very big black blotches and she would not even go out the house to the shops for 6 weeks. Now, you can't even tell she had it!

Chocol8 that sounds good, think its always good using something natural and preferably organic.
