Never heard of them, but will bump, as quite interested myself!

SleepySuzy · 02/10/2005 15:12

aha - found them!

twirlaround · 02/10/2005 15:13

will let you know how I get on!!!
do you have any specific existing problem you think they would help?

A couple of the ladies on the Runners Support thread have them I think.

SleepySuzy · 02/10/2005 15:18

I do suffer from backache regularly, and have terrible posture, but I don't think I could afford these

mancmum · 02/10/2005 18:01

I have them - think they are great I love them -- they make me walk with far better posture than I normally do... would buy them again..

twirlaround · 02/10/2005 19:02

mancmum how often do you wear them?

and suzy I had to steal myself to fork out but having wasted hundreds on chiro that didn't help, I thought £120 would be money well spent if it stopped me being in pain every day! Bang goes my budget for new boots this winter though

OP posts:
mancmum · 02/10/2005 19:06

I should wear them more often as I do notice an improvement in my posture but as they are quite clumpy and ugly (IMHO... but I am too old to have any fashion sense as my friend's 11 year old thinks they are the coolest shoes on planet!!) I can only wear them when I am wearing jeans or certain long trousers... ?I try to wear them 2-3 times a week but when I first got them I wore them for a week to get used to them as it did feel odd rolling instead of walking...!!

I got the trainers but might go for the shoes when finances are up for it!!

twirlaround · 02/10/2005 19:10

i have the sandals! which probably look even worse than the trainers I reckon!
have you seen the earth shoe range - looks like a similar idea but more normal designs available?

OP posts:
mancmum · 02/10/2005 19:17

earth shoe? Moght have a look at them.. anything similar but more 'elegant' would be great..

merrygoround · 02/10/2005 19:44

A friend of mine swears by the MBT shoes - personally put off by how they look. I think she uses them for actual exercise though, as opposed to just instead of every day shoes. For everyday she uses www.lovethoseshoes.com - their shoes feature something called (I think) reverse heel technology - ie the heel is sort of lower inside the shoe, oh I don't understand it, but she reckons it sorted her back out.

earth shoes and ink{http://www.lovethoseshoes.com/ViewRange.asp?RangeID=107a UK stockist

I'm just finding out about them now, looks like they're a bit cheaper.

SleepySuzy · 02/10/2005 21:41

I meant a UK stockist

Have been wearing them almost every day for last 18 months. Think they are superb. I walk & stand better and have noticed an increase in muscle tone in my feet & legs without doing any other exercise. They look so ugly though, I wish they'd make more attractive looking shoes.
