My mum has got a really bad cold, possibly flu and has had bleeding from her ear

I said it could be a perforated ear drum maybe ??

She said the pain in her ear was excruciating and she took strong painkillers and a sleeping tablet and eventually fell asleep, but when she woke there was blood on her pillow and some blood coming from her ear. It has now stopped.

I suggested she see the gp, but she said it didn't seem worth it.

I've had this; It's horrible, she has my sympathy.

I think a trip to the GP is in order she may need antibiotics.

How's her hearing? I found mine was quite reduced in that ear for a week or 2.

I hope she feels better soon.

Thank's Schroeder she said she is pretty much deaf in that ear.

I thought maybe she might need ab's so will tell her to see her gp tomorrow.

I agree, sounds like she has burst her eardrum. She will probably need antibiotics and should get her ear checked after a couple of weeks to make sure it heals.
