telling me to contact my GP immediately.
My Haemoglobin and white cell count are normal but my platelet count is high at 526x10(9)/L
That nine should be above the 10.
Pointless doing anything now will not get appt etc until the new year. So is that a bad reading or is it ok Advice pls.
TIA

Lots of harmless things can raise your platelets temporarily. Also various more serious things can cause it.

I would make an appt ASAP to discuss with the GP, surgery will be open as normal tomorrow and at least part of Friday - Xmas Eve is not a bank holiday.

My Mum had something like this, can't remember the details but it wasn't sinister. After effects of a cold or infection or something I think.

I had really low levels once and got a letter to go to gp - turned out I was really anaemic, but healthily, if you know what I mean, no ill effects.

Hope you are the same.

Do ring your GP, as they will fit you in somewhere, with a letter like that.
