Any GP about to talk to me about Gardasil vaccine?

Am I right in thinking this vaccine is only a preventative measure regarding hpv strains 6 and 11?

Basically is it useless to me now that I have been exposed to these?

Many thanks,

Have a look at the NHS cervical screening website there is a section on vaccination. My understanding is that Gardasil is against the two most prevalent high risk HPV types 16 and 18; 6 and 11 are lower risk.

There are definitely some studies with the other vaccine that protects against 4 HPV strains in women with previous HPV exposure. Iirc they were positive did give some degree of protection. Not sure whether its approved for that here though.
