Anyone recommend a cranial osteopath for refluxy 14wk old in Surrey?

I've just been reading a few "reflux" threads on here and I've become convinced that it's got to be worth a try for my poor ds who's suffering from terrible acid trapped wind. I'd rather go with someone who's been recommended than taking pot luck from a website.

TIA

which side of surrey are you. My boss goes to one in Aldershot town centre which is called The general Medical Centre. I went and had a session with her (although not a cranial appt) and was pleased with the results. The No is 01252 666898

starlover · 27/09/2005 18:00

don't know a surrey one but can recommend a fab one in sussex (east grinstead)

charleypops · 27/09/2005 18:14

I could get to say, Kingston or Guildford equally easily, East Grinstead might be a bit far though, but if s/he is really fab, it might be worth it.

Thanks for the number Sweetheart, I'll see if I can find someone closer first, but will keep a note of it.

my friend used one for her ds and she lives in Surbiton if that is any help I can find out details?

LIZS · 27/09/2005 20:08

Watching with interest as wondering if ds(7) might benefit with his motor/sensory issues. Reigate area is good for us.

charleypops · 27/09/2005 22:50

Charleypops, my DD had reflux and we went to my osteopath in Knaphill, near Woking. Is that any good for you? Will dig number out later- she's very quick at seeing you too. Did help with DD but the thing that worked the best was Infant Gaviscon, available on prescription. Have you tried any medications yet? Well worth a go and no nasty effects- DD is gradually coming off it now after 5 months.

charleypops · 28/09/2005 16:47

Hi Ess, yes, knaphill's good for me also thanks
We've been using Gaviscon for several weeks, but didn't really seem to work, or began to work less and less until last week I took ds to the drs because he simply wasn't eating anything. We are now trying Ranitidine. It's been nearly a week now, he seems more "gassy" with trapped wind than before and still seems to be in a bit of discomfort, but so far, fingers crossed, he's been eating ok-ish, not great, but ok. We're going to give the Ranitidine 10 days, but I've read on here that the co is good for trapped wind. I'll try anything!

Sorry took a while to come back to this. In Reigate there is one who works out of a baby shop called 'Olimia', they have a website you can search for. The other is in Nutley Lane, I know people who have used both with their babies.

I take my dd to a great one in Chessington.

manicmama · 29/09/2005 19:04

It is probably too far for you, but I went to a very good one called at the Wishing Well in Petersfield. He had previously worked at a special children's cranial osteopathy centre in London.

I used a fab one in Wokingham - if that's not too far ?

charleypops · 29/09/2005 19:27

Thanks for all these posts! And thanks ggglimpopo for the warning! Scatterbrain, think Wokingham's ok for me too.

Thanks for getting back to me geoteach

I've got some phoning round to do then

my friend has been in contact and these are the two she has used.

John Bayliss in Chessington and Maxine at the Brabant clinic on the Portsmouth Road Esher

hope this helps

Bellie · 29/09/2005 22:40

I used the one in Nutley Lane reigate that geogteach posted about. I used it for dd and her colic, feeding problems in general and also for me after my c-section, can thoroughly recommend.
CAT me if you would like to know more.
