White spots on dd's tongue

Today I noticed that dd (15 months old) has some white spots on her tongue. My first thought was thrush, but she's never had it before, so I don't know how likely this is. Is it worth popping to the doctor tomorrow?

i know when my dd had oral thrush(when a few weeks old), it wasnt spots as such, it looked just like milk coating on her tongue...i would take your dd to GP anyway...sorry i cant be more help.

Thanks. Lilsmum, what first made me notice it was thinking, 'but you haven't had any milk for hours..!' then I looked closer and its spots. My mouth doesn't feel all that great either to be honest, and dd does like to use my toothbrush . Will go to the doctors first thing,
Thank you

Does she have any spots anywhere else? There are some viral illnessess which can cause spots in the mouth - the two that spring to mind are hand, foot and mouth, and measles.

Haven't noticed spots anywhere else WWB, but it is possible, I had some unexplained spots a few weeks ago that the GP said could have been an extremely mild case of measles. I've been in contact with it many times, but have always assumed that I'm immune, as have never 'officially' caught it. I will look closely tomorrow for a rash
