Can you get blood poisoning from a splinter?

Last night I got a wood splinter under my nail on my pinkie. I couldn't get most of it out, which I thought was just annoying and a bit sore. Today, my hand is getting more and more uncomfortable along the finger down the hand and into the wrist.

Should I worry? Should I chill out?

Thanks!

It's possible as it depends on what bacteria was on the splinter, you also have bacteria on the surface of your skin which would have gone inside your finger when the splinter went in. You need to get it looked at to be honest, sooner rather then later. If you can't get an appointment with your GP then go to A&E.
