odd periods and headaches

have posted on here before recently about mid-cycle bleeding. This month I got my period a week early - then 7 days later I started bleeding again - not heavily, but enough.
Have headaches regularly - never mind what day of my cycle..
I have made an appt to see the doc next week, just wondered if anyone has had similar experience or any ideas what it could be??
I am nearly 41 and def. def. cannot be pregnant again.

I don't know what the headaches signify but have you had a cervical smear recently?
Just asking because I had mid-cycle bleeding when I had "changes in the cervical cells" (it was easily treated)

yes, to smear test this year, and it was fine.
will still go get it checked out though.
thanks Cam

Any chance you could have a sxually transmitted infection? Chlamydia is one of the main causes of mid-cycle bleeding. It could be that you are peri-menopausal, although you are VERY young for this even so. WOuld definitely go to the GP's t get it checked out. ARe you using anything for contraception at the moment as that could be another possible cause?

I've been having a period almost every week and suffering with quite bad headaches, I was on femulen (a mini pill), the doctor has changed this pill because he reckoned it was the cause, don't know if you're on any pill but just a suggestion!

bagpussmice · 23/09/2005 17:22

not on any pill - I guess it could be an early menopause which is what the docs and private specialists told me about 6 years ago when I was trying to conceive for the first time!
