My mum should have started her second round of chemotherapy last Monday, there is still mo bed available at the local hospital and she has been told she is second in the queue. She's on 4 week cycles so this is massively overdue. The consultant has requested they complain to mp which they've done. She does not want to push in and has been told that in an emergency they'll look for a bed elsewhere. The hospital has not yet tried elsewhere and despite been told it is critical she gets the treatment on time the hospital doesn't seem concerned (management not medical staff). Can anyone advise on how she can push for a bed, it doesn't matter if it's at the other end of the country, surely if there are beds available it's criminal not to fill them. There seems to be no advice for my parents and it's just a horrible situation. Any advice (but not go to the papers, that is not going to happen) will be so gratefully received
