Still waiting for 8 month check up and hearing test.....?!

Hi all, my DS is 8.5 months and I havent heard any news about an 8 month check up or a hearing test. I thought all babies had this, or is it only if they 'need' it?
I spoke to health visitor last week and she said 'we are running behind'- she was very vague.
Any ideas?

I can't remember that long back but do you wait for an invitation or do you ring and book an appointment? If you have any concerns about your DS's hearing, please press on.

did your ds not have the hearing test at newborn stage? Jess is 14 months and had this when she was a few weeks old. Her 6-9 month check was done at 9.5 months as they were behind here, got referred for a squint and it took 4 months to get an appointment for that!

If you are concerned, press for the review asap!

Hi, thanks for reponses. I dont have any concerns- he seems to turn at noises and at mum and baby group he enjoys the music sessions and answers to his name.
He didnt have hearing test when Newborn, no.
I suppose I just want him to have every test that he should do, and not miss out.

ds had his check at 9mths but hearing check isnt done in the liverpool borough although we come under 2 different ones so he had a test at 6wks old for hearing

My dd had a hearing test at her second review, which according to her red book is the 6 - 9 month review and she was 8 months when she had it. Give your HV a ring and ask, because not all clinics do all the checks these days.

Weird how different areas do diff things. I will chat to HV, will see her next Wed. The HV I spoke to last time wasnt 'my' HV.
Thanks for help!
