Yup, my poor DH had an infection after his first one.

(and he had to have it redone as it didn't work the first time, but you probably don't want to hear that Grin)

The antibiotics did the trick.

MrsVincentPrice · 15/11/2010 21:17

Yes, it was horrible and very painful I'm afraid, but antibios and heavy duty painkillers did the trick (together with trips back to consultant to make sure it was resolving properly). Lots of sympathy and support is in order - good luck for a speedy resolution.

My dh did too. It was hugely painful for him, but resolved well with some anti biotics. His was because he did too much and pulled the stitches apart (apparently)

MrsVincentPrice · 15/11/2010 21:21

I would add that it's one of those things which can go badly wrong (rare but possible) so if he doesn't have faith in his GP he should be prepared to go back to the surgeon to be checked (I'm a bit over-cautious here because DH only revealed to me this week just what the surgeon had told him about potential complications).

he went back to the consultant that did it who is very, renounced and quite a few friends have been to him no problems.

Just very unlucky I suspect.

Oh that's a relief DQ (sort of). Best wishes to DH.
