Tongue - how swollen is too swollen?

For the past 48h I've been coming out in a peculiar Itchy rash that looks like insect bites, mostly on my arms and feet. ( No, it's not chickenpox, and I don't think it's HF&M.) I also have one spot on the right side of my tongue and one in my right ear, and between the two of them they're giving me earache. Other than the discomfort I don't feel ill and have no fever. I'm taking antihistamines and paracetamol.

The right half of my tongue is swollen and sore enough to make it hard for me to eat and to affect my speech, but not my breathing. I can breathe and swallow saliva with no difficulty.

However, I think another spot may be coming up on the other side of my tongue.

Should I worry?

And what on earth is going on with me?

sounds like an allergic reaction, do you have any anti-histamines? to be on the safe side i would call your gp surgery for advice in case it gets worse.

Yes get it checked out!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 16/11/2010 07:33

How are you now?

PrettyCandles · 16/11/2010 09:33

Better, I think. Thanks for asking :)

Spots are still coming out, but the swelling and pain are going down. So even with two spots on my tongue I'm more comfortable than I was with only one, very swollen spot.
