Fell over, smacked into side of toy box and has a fat top lip. Bled a bit. Obv cried. Now seems happy, is eating, but just had a look and it looks badly bitten inside.

Should I take him to the doc/A&E/do anything?

I'm rubbish with injuries.

DS did this a while ago on the table, bit his bottom lip on both sides. It looked quite bad on the inside but only bled for a minute.

I'd say if DC is okay eating and drinking to leave it but if you're worried phone the doctor/nurse for advice.

I wouldn't worry at all. As pointed out, oral wounds heal fast. The swelling will be gone tomorrow I bet.

At preschool, DS1 was pushed and fell forward, slamming his mouth on one of those log steeping stone things.

When I went to pick him up and had a look, his lip had actually detatched from his gum at the front meaning you could see up behind his nose if that makes sense? and subsequently also shunted his front teeth up into the gum.

Cue DH and I speeding off to A&E.

Hospital did nothing, said it would be fine and it was indeed, though his mouth stayed swollen for about 3 days.
Had to just keep an eye out for infection due to hole.

Mouth injuries do look horrendous, but as has been said, they heal very quickly indeed. :)

Hope you little one is okay soon.
