Is Manuka honey worth the hype?

I mean, why the price tag? What's it do?

My mum is mad about it at the moment. Personally I wouldn't bother.

It has many uses. The NHS can now provide dressings impregnated with it, as it's such a good antibacterial agent. I had some on a dodgy wound earlier this year.
