Any dentists in the house?

DP went to the dentist yesterday after a 12 year gap Blush

We expected that he would need some fillings (he's got a huge sweet tooth) but he's meticulous about brushing and really does take care of his teeth.

The dentist said he needs to have seven teeth out - possibly 8 as they are so rotten, that the holes are bigger than the teeth. She also recommended gold crowns for the teeth remaining.. and dentures to fill in the gaps.

Surely if this was the case he would have been in considerable pain, have bad breath or something???

We are going to seek a second opinion but does it seem feasible, given that he's had no issues at all, not even a bit of sensitivity?

he probably hasnt had any pain from the said teeth as all the nerves have died in the teeth, decay has gone far too far for the tooth to be saved and needs taken out to prevent further problems.

crowns are the best way forward for remaining teeth (not too decayed) and perhaps a denture to replace other missing teeth

oops just seen this, thank you for replying.

We saw another dentist, who said that three teeth need to come out and the rest fixable, with a bridge or denture to fill in the gap.
She also said that Eastman's DO do extractions and was baffled that the first dentist said he'd need a general anaesthetic.

Ohh and his wisdom teeth are coming through, lol

We went back to the first dentist, and the practice manager, who is the practice owner's wife said that she'd looked at the x-rays and disagreed with the dentist who'd seen dp so we got our deposit back and a nice apology.
