Pain on ovary?

used2bthin · 10/10/2010 10:12

I have had pain during sex for the last week, it is a stabbing pain on the right, possibly on my ovary? I have had ovarian cysts before (in fact quite a biggy) but I don't remember it hurting like this. No pain other than during sex-can't really have sex as the pain in that spot is too much when it happens.

I will get to the doctor next week but any ideas? I am worried and google didn't show much.

hi there, i had sim pains but i recently had a mmc so wasnt sure if related. Went to docs as mine was deep on the left had side with bloating, explained it was ibs as where the pain was, were my blowel and kidney, tsted for infection all clear, so ibs it is then!! I do suffer espec when stressed, i suppose the last 4 weeks have been stressfull so maybe his right. His the professional i guess!

Hi there,

I also have similar problems, Attila has given me some great advice on here before.

I have a crazy gynae history including pain during sex, suspected endo, referred for laparoscopy which never happened as I fell pregnant.

DD is 2.7 and pains are back, but I havent had a period since June. Now being referred to gynae for a scan to see.

i have developed a mass/fullness to my right side just next to/below my navel which GP wants to chack out on the scan.

I've had these problems since I was 18 (now 23) and still no definite answer to anything, but after todays visit, finally getting back into the line of the right people to ask. getting a referral seems to be the hardest part.

Sorry for the hijack, just wanted you to know you are by no means on your own :)

Hi sorry to hear that Rach, certainly does sound stressful. I have had bloating but have recently reintroduced meat after twenty years as a vegetarian so it could be that. Reintroduced it as was anaemic due to constant bleeding when I had a coil, we women have a lot to put up with. I hope now that they have identified the problem that tings will improve for you soon.

Alovelybunch I have had lots of similar stuff to you, for example had pain during sex when pg with dd (didn't know yet)then what I thought was the start of my period then cramps so bad I was sent from GP to the STD clinic as they thought it could be a pelvic infection. It was DD!

Poor you though having all this for so long.

I had sex last night and there was one small pain but other than that fine, nothing like the last week and a halfs attempts. Do I keep the appointment? Not sure what to do as whatevver may have been there could have gone??

I would keep the appointment anyway and ask for a referral to a gynae.

used2bthin · 14/10/2010 19:22

Thanks yes think I will, DD has an assessment at the surgery anyway before the appointment so we wil be there and probably safer.

Well the doctor prescribed me metronidazole and another anti biotic beginning with d and said to treat it as a pelvic infection then come back if it is a problem after that. Since it isn't such a problem I am reluctant to do that but I thin I will if it gets bad again. Hope the others on this thread having problems like it got sorted! Don't really know if mine is but will wait and see for now.

Use2bthin - Another here going through the same. Had a niggling pain in my right side, back groin for probably about a year, heavier periods and then last month no real bleed just a very large clot and them quite a few more about 50pence size.

Had a pelvic exam and going for ultrasound when apt comes through. As I'm single can't say whether sex would effect it but from the bruised feeling when had pelvic I would guess yes.

The GP did say it could be scar tissue from my ECS as I get pain when I cough somettimes or use the lower muscles.

Yes I agree about making an apt and thanks to the lovely lasies on here I have also decided not to give up until everything is ruled out.

hope your feeling better soon. xx

MumBarTheDoorZombiesAreComing · 18/10/2010 19:15

sorry back and groin

MumBarTheDoorZombiesAreComing · 18/10/2010 19:17

a lovely bunch I have the feeling of a mass where yours is too, problem is having had IBS for 20 yrs its hard to get GPs to test for any other pain cuases when its anywhere within my stomach region.

used2bthin · 18/10/2010 22:11

Thanks, hope your feeling better and AB are working.

used2bthin · 20/10/2010 14:09

Thanks-was going to wait but now pain is back :-( so annoying will have to take the ABs then go back to the GP when they don't work (am sure it isn't an infection as surely it wouldnt be in such a specific place?

Sad used2b.

I have just got my period and am spending the whole time worrying about it - its rediculous!! I had some cramping earlier which paracetomal cured but theres no real pain so don't think its endo.

Hope you feel better soon - keep us posted as everyone can support each other and pass on advice suggestions.

Oh, talking of advice I find a wheat bag hepls my pain more than a hot water bottle as you can place it better where the pain runs.

used2bthin · 25/10/2010 23:14

Oh thats a good tip I have used that for back pain it does help. Luckily (?) mine seems to be only during sex and then its very specific to the right side. I am waiting till after a friends birthday this week then taking the weeks course of 2x daily metronidazole and three x daily doxycycline :-/ as that seems to be what I have to do before the doctor will consider it not being an infection. Can you getan infection in one place like that though that ony hurts when it is bumped? I think it sometimes hurts to lie on my tummy now but not sure if I am imagining it so it can't be too bad!

Hope you fee better too, and yes keeping posting is a good plan.
