Has anyone ever regretted/DH regretted having a vasectomy?

DH is having his tomorrow and I am a tad nervous for some reason.

We are both totally sure that we don't want anymore children so don't know why I'm nervous, maybe because its so final.

Has anyone ever regretted their decision?

DH had his on Tuesday. Like you, we both know we definitely do not want any more children but I still felt a little sad Sad No regrets though (yet !). I can't wait to get the all clear and finally stop taking the pill

Dh, had it done about 4 years ago. Never ever regretted it. It is fab just to be able to whenever we want (well within reason with dc about!).

We only have one child and dd was only 14 months when dh had it done. Never regretted it...

DH had one. We have three children. One is SN, I suffered increasingly bad PND after each birth and I'm nearly 40.

Nope, no regrets!

maktaitai · 09/10/2010 22:45

HELL no.

I'm sad not to be able to have more children, but the decision for dH to have the snip was exactly right. We both had a serious panic just before going into the unit though (not surprising on dh's part really).

I must say though, that given the number of attempted reversals you hear about, it clearly is possible to regret it.

No, no regrets here. (Which is good as I guess your dh has now had it) It's pretty straightforward for them and the most reliable thing we could have done. It's very nice to not even have to think about contraception.

me either, have 3 dc's really happy with it, DH had his last year.
Top Tip: Don't let him pick up the lo's, my DH spilt his stitches

I didn't feel too bad, I was 13 days post-partum and still smarting from it, after 3 kids he can feel a bit of pain Grin

Oww I sound mean, in all seriousness, it really has been great is still exactly the same and being carefree about it makes it even more fun Grin.
