for the last few months my hormones have been going nuts, i had a period that was over a week early and shockingly heavy, my last one was barely there. my skin is spotty but dry, my mood swings have spectacular and ive put on weight. i keep having dizzy spells and generally feel bloody awful.

Have you turned into a teenager?

SoupDragon · 07/10/2010 12:59

I rather suspect you should go and ask your GP as he may have a more sensible answer and, more importantly, some help :).

OracleInaCoracle · 07/10/2010 12:59

i wish! am 32.

ach, i was hoping someone would say "totally normal!" its been like this since my last mc.

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 07/10/2010 13:09

I think that given your mc (:()seems to have been the trigger, you definitely need to see your GP for peace of mind.

OracleInaCoracle · 07/10/2010 13:10

hmm, no appointments for today. also have horrendous thrush. never had it before and i have it every month for 3 weeks at a time. its been 4m since my last mc thouggh, and its never taken my body this long to recover.

OP posts:
OracleInaCoracle · 07/10/2010 13:11

thank you btw.

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 07/10/2010 13:12

Thrush too...? You poor thing!

SoupDragon · 07/10/2010 13:12

Oh, don't thank me, I'm no help whatsoever :)

OracleInaCoracle · 07/10/2010 13:17

its a bit of a shock. I managed to get through my teens with no spots, no major hormone issues. up until 4m ago I'd never had thrush, now its all happening at once.

Please seek medical advice asap, your GP needs to be informed of these symptoms.

It may be a problem to do with your thyroid gland.

Symptoms of hypothyroidism:-
Many symptoms can be caused by a low level of thyroxine. Basically, everything 'slows down'. Not all symptoms develop in all cases..

?Symptoms that commonly occur include: tiredness, weight gain, constipation, aches, feeling cold, dry skin, lifeless hair, fluid retention, mental slowing, and depression.

?Less common symptoms include: a hoarse voice, irregular or heavy menstrual periods in women, infertility, loss of sex drive, carpal tunnel syndrome (which causes pains and numbness in the hand), and memory loss or confusion in the elderly.

However, all these symptoms can be caused by other conditions, and sometimes the diagnosis is not obvious. Symptoms usually develop slowly, and gradually become worse over months or years as the level of thyroxine in the body gradually falls.

OracleInaCoracle · 07/10/2010 13:26

thanks, i had my thyroid checked a couple of years ago during fertility investigations, but i do need another round of tests doing.
