Have just made my first cup - I'm slightly underwhelmed Grin still if it helps my stomach I'll drink it by the bucket load

What's wrong with your stomach? I've been left with a dodgy acid-prone stomach after helicobacter last year, and find the best thing ever are pepperming oil capsules from Holland and Barrett.

Have had severe IBS type symptoms constantly for the last month Bucharest. I went to dr's this morning and he said it's probably indigestion and recomended peppermint tea.

Perhaps the capsules would be better then?

Oh the capsules are fab- I sometimes get gripey intestinal pains as well, and they soothe those too. I can go for days without any, but then some days will take one after a meal.

I was on all kinds of prescription antacids but moved onto first Gastrocote (behind the counter in Boots, really good for indigestion but not as heavily marketed as Gaviscon) but now usually just have the peppermint capsules. I take the extra-strength ones.

Have you tried cutting out wheat?

My tummy is much better when I don't eat wheat. I don't get really bad IBS but have in the past and yes the capsules help.

ConnorTraceptive · 05/10/2010 16:48

I will invest in some capsules tomorrow!

I have thought about maybe cutting out wheat although that woulds eliminate a considerable amount of my current diet!

I was the same! Could have wheat every meal and snack. Not any more. And I so feel it when I do have it. Had 2 digestive biscuits on Saturday and had rumbly gurgley bloated tum soon after.

A rather lovely side-effect of peppermint tea - it's really good for the skin as well.

ConnorTraceptive · 05/10/2010 21:43

That's good to know my skin is shite these days!
