Can you get probiotics on prescription?

I have suffered with Thrush almost my entire pregnancy and it's not gping anywhere...

During labour, I will need antibiotics (for StrepB), which is not going to help with the Thrush at all. So I am going to ask about some major Thrush treatment post birth (can I gat the tablet?). I am worried about getting Thrush in my nipples and passing it on to the baby.

So, can I get probiotics (the tablets) on prescription? Do they work? And if I can't, where do I buy them from and do they work???

Thanks

Can you check about taking Acidophilus by mouth. It retains the gut flora that antibiotics wipe out. I used to get horrendous thrush after taking abs but keep it at bay now. Try Holland and Barret for mega strength.

you can also try Zn supplement, it's excellent to improve immunity, it worked on my ds when nothing else helped at all

You could well be Zn deficient, a lot of people are as it hardly ever gets tested.

moonstorm, my neighbour is French and tells me that you are automatically prescribed these with antibiotics in France. Smart.

Have you tried limiting the sugar and yeast in your diet? I only say that because my DD used to suffer terribly- sometimes took a tablet and 2 lots of pessaries to shift it- and it was the only thing that made a difference.
