Weird waves of nausea

Soooo I'm still BFing DS (14 months) and haven't had a period since ooooh October 2008!! But for the past week I've had weird waves of nausea, no actual sickness, just slightly churning tum, a queasy feeling and too much saliva in the mouth, plus the need to burp every now and then. Classy. Very much like the morning sickness I had with DS. Now I've done a pregnancy test and it's negative and by the time I got nausea with DS had had oodles of positive tests by then. I will test again if it continues. But assuming I'm not pregnant what could it be? Does anyone know of anything else that can cause mild(ish) nausea for this long? Please help am finding myself utterly preoccupied by this and was sure when I tested this morning I'd find a BFP. Anyone??

I had a nasty MS-like virus about a month ago. I knew that I couldn't be pregnant, but it was exactly the same, to the extent I was doubting myself. It went on for about a week - it kind of built up to real nausea then slowly got better.

It was very, very strange!

Thanks Brettgirl2, DH and DS have had a cold/flu bug just recently so who knows maybe I have some sort of virus that's making me feel ick instead.
Although my sister just told me she had three false negatives before she finally tested positive at 7 weeks.... so am still wondering.
Think if I still feel ick this week I may have to splash out on a First Response rather than a Tesco's own test. Hmmm.
Am really hoping we'll have a second DC at some point but would rather not have two under two!

I was still bf DS and hadn't had a period when I fell pregnant with DD - there's 2 years & 6 weeks between them. For me the first symptom was actually getting completely turned off DH, just as it had been with DS, so I did a test, which was negative. But then I started feeling sick and tried the test again - bfp!

Ooooh lummy, thanks RustyBear. I think I'd better buy a test today. I'm still burping and feeling queasy, and I'm being nice and sweet to hubby.... which is a sign somethings up, as I'm normally much much more stroppy. Better go and get a First Response test.

I'd say pregnant as well. This is exactly what happened to me with DD1. I was 11 weeks before I was really sure and that was because of the dating scan.

Eeeek! I'll update later, well probably tomorrow as I'll wait for that 'morning wee', can't find a first response test at our tescos or the chemist so am off to take DS for a trip to asda later. Can't stop thinking about it all. DH is going to be very shocked if I am.

Time to shuffle off to GP?

Poppet45 · 05/10/2010 19:05

Think you might be right. If I'm still feeling crappy by the end of the week I'll book an appointment.
