If I gave him this epic list of symptoms?

  1. Slight has become terrible. Have had correct vision for years but all of a sudden I can't focus well, read number plates etc I am struggling to type.

2)Feel a bit deaf and dizzy

  1. Have a constant cold and green runny nose

4)I'm soooooooooooooo tired

  1. I keep forgeting peoples names, pausing mid sentence slurring my speech. DH thinks I have always often done this but I'm not so sure.....I haven't noticed it before.

I think that's it.

They are going to think I'm mad or have something terrible arn't they?

en masse we're not GPs :) i know some are
just go!

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 02/10/2010 16:44

sinesitis?? i cant spell it, would explain many of those apart from speech

KurriKurri · 02/10/2010 17:36

Write it down and go. They won't think you are mad. Some of the symptoms you mention are similar to those I had when diagnosed with underactive thyroid, (very treatable), but inexplicable weight gain is also typical and you don't mention that.

But of course I'm only guessing, you need to get checked out.

IUsedToBeFab · 02/10/2010 17:38

Thyroid - vision problems and tiredness are symptoms.

You need to just go to the GP.

OuchPassVodka · 02/10/2010 17:46

i get 1,2,4 and 5 with visual disturbance migraines.

Second going to the doc this could be as bad as googling. and we all know that if you put something into google it will tell you you will die Hmm

I'm a bit worried about going as I last went 6 months ago with PND and was given tablets which I decided against taking. I feel 100% over birth now and have moved on but I'm a bit worried she will think its related. She once wrote on my child's file I was a bit nurotic (sp??) so I always worry about seeing her now.

PS I was nurotic but he was my first so that's allowed right?

There are lots of things it could be but a sinus infection on top of anaemia is something that sounds possible to me.

JBsmama · 02/10/2010 18:59

Anyone is allowed to be a bit neurotic any time. Especially with a PFB. :o

Sounds like thyroid (underactive) to me.

Go get it checked out.

PND can affect people quite differently, and yes, fatigue can be a symptom, but I fail to see how PND could cause your eyesight to change, or give you green icky snot. If your GP finds a link between those symptoms and PND, she'll have discovered a new disease. Hmm

IUsedToBeFab · 02/10/2010 19:00

See another doctor?

ooooooeak · 02/10/2010 20:24

Thanks ladies. Time to book that appointment I think!

Change GP?

I get 1,2,4,5 with migraine and 3 when I have sinusitus. But it's certainly worth checking out properly.

BTW - Have you had an eye test? My GP referred me immediately with dodgy vision once she knew that the eye test hadn't shown anything. So go for an eye test too.

Definitely need to see your GP- may be nothing but by and large these sort of symptoms need looking at especially a sudden change in eyesight.
If you can't get in to see your GP soon you should at least see your optician as soon as possible to check your eyes thoroughly.
Don't worry about not taking the pills - tons of people don't take stuff we give them and if you are better its not an issue.
These don't sound anything like depression symptoms to me but you need someone to actually see you to make a proper assessment, don't panic though you don't need to hit a&e tonight- just see someone at your surgery and if you don't get on with your GP see another one.
Hope you feel better soon

catrionasmum thank-you very much, really helpful advice.
I saw an option today and my perscription has changed slightly for the poorer. He also said I had an enlarged back of the eye on my left......not sure what this means as yet but off to GP tomorrow.

Thank-you again all, I have been really worried!

Please update when you've been to your GP!

ooooooeak · 06/10/2010 19:16

Hi all, thanks for your concern!

I saw the duty doctor who wasn't my usual GP. He was fab. Did some very funny tests which made me giggle if nothing else!! I had to puff out my cheeks, close my eyes and touch my nose, say if I had the same sensation on both sides when he touched my face and lots of other exercises!
My chest had a few crackles and my ear was blocked, as are my sinus, so antibiotics and a nasal spray.
He could hear when I was talking I was a bit breathless and I did say I was worried about slurring my speech, but he said I was tired and had a bit of new mummy syndrome so to give it a few weeks and come back if still worried.

Fingers crossed the antibiotics and spray will help. Thanks so much for your concern....don't get much of that at home! :)
