DD has not slept properly for 2 nights. Both nights she went to bed at the normal time, and woke up a couple of hours later, crying, with a temperature. She is absolutely full of cold - a really bad one. Last night I couldn't get her back to sleep til after midnight, and even that was fitful. I've been up about 20 minutes and she is still asleep. Do I let her sleep longer? I can't even keep my eyes open

Have you got any Medised? Brillant stuff in times of a cold, really dries up their noses and lets them get a good nights sleep (thanks to the anti-histamine which makes them drowsy!!)

No but I have some Piriton, I could give her that and zonk her, then I could get some sleep! Good idea furball!!

Medised is pretty good - as well as the antihistimine it has paracetamol in it. Can you prop the head of her bed/cot up? That may help. Or Karvol in a bowl of steaming water near her cot (but not where she can reach it!! )

SleepySuzy · 06/09/2005 08:10

She has a cot wedge, and a pillow, but when I go to check on her, I often find her laid across the cot sideways with her feet sticking through the bars.

Ditto to Medised-it is a godsend when they have those horrible thick colds-my d1 has just got over one and Medised was the only thing that stopped him vomiting in his sleep where he was so bunged up-it really dries it up too!Great stuff!Every Mum should have a bottle in the house!

I usually substitute ds bath for a shower when he's bunged up and get it nice and steamy. Medised and karvol help during the night.
