Don't mention the war

10 out of 30 on Wednesday and all of them on Thursday.

Have one of my BF and her partner coming to dinner on Wednesday,and we will all take him to school, so DS will not start without a little bit of ceremony.

Because my family are in Ireland, and my DH's DS is commonly known as my Vile SIL.

My DB is still in hospital in Malaga, following peretonitis, he texted today and said get X to ring me on Thursday.

She doesn't even seem to be aware that he is starting school

DH's mum is dead, so you would think she would assume the mantle, not every week (although that would be nice, for DS (not the rest of us) at least on important dates.

Poor you Aimsmum. Still, more of an excuse to sit at the computer and Mumsnet!

Thing is I wouldn't invite her to be there, NOT ON MY TURF so to speak.

But a phone call this weekend would have been nice.

DS's school is a Faith school, so ergo I would not let her within an asses roar of the school.

When DS was (2), and I was explaining in company that he would go through the Faith system and he could then accept it or walk away.

I walked away for quite a long time, but now love going to Mass. NOT a God botherer, just enjoy my faith. Happy I had it to fall back on, so to speak.

Anyway, I digress, she turned around to DS then 2 (thankfully) and said.......................

Don't you worry X I have a really good book at home on alternative religions for you.

This is a woman who was made a (sympathy)God Mother to DS, we had already decided on my DB and DS. (we could not have any more) I had to convince the Priest that it was an act of Christian kindness and then she comes out with that...................WTF

BTW his new school are really hot on alternative religions.............so lmao at her small mindness.

Where did you fall off the pavement? You feel such a dumpling, don't you! I remember going over on my weak ankle when I was pregnant, going to our office in Edinburgh - and I was in tears by the time I got in to the office.

It's not as if you have to walk that far!

Ds loves showing us his "homework" every night: the Kipper stories where he has to tell us the story. And then he shows off his (sort of) jotter, where the most recent reading bits have been pasted in and which he has coloured in. The latest was a house with a cut out Kipper, which he showed me how he could "put" (thanks to the wee bit of Blu Tak) in to the various room of the house.

Ds hasn't noticeabley been more tired - although we are making a conscious effort to put him ot bed earlier - now aiming at 7.30 rather than 8. He's still getting up at 6.45 or earlier, full of beans!

... god, if only. Ds has a treat on a Friday and is allowed to watch Doctor Who, which means it is 10 o'clock before he gets to bed. But does he wake up any earlier??........
