DS1's ankle "injury"

We were at a barn dance last night. DS1 (9yo) told us from the start that he was NOT dancing and mysteriously managed to "sprain" his ankle within the first 10 mins. I left him to it, he'd got Harry Potter with him and the rest of us had a fab time.

But, he's still limping. There's no swelling or bruising, but he's apparently still in agony, can't put a shoes on and hopping every where. If he's putting it on, I'm amazed he's managed to keep it up consistently for so long and now I'm starting to feel a bit guilty about not believing him, but I can't take him to docs/hospital, there's nothing to see.

How long would you leave it before getting it looked at? Would you for him to be excused from PE tomorrow?

Can he bear weight on it? And has it stopped him from doing anything you would expect him to be doing on a Sunday?

Mmm difficult one. Could you maybe tell him his favourite sweet/chocolate bar/pudding is in the fridge if it were my dd she would be off like a shot, I have used to measure how "ill" she has been in the past.

A sprain would normally have a little swelling, I would give him another day, he def wouldn't be able to keep up a false limp that long.

Treat it as a sprain and just elevate it it, strap it up and rest it tonight. It won't stop him doing anything else....let him do PE tomorrow.

How's he getting on?
