after a week the cold compress doesnt really help. So i think heat would help relax the muscle.

MrsShrekTheThird · 19/09/2010 22:04

heat imho. Ad rest, obviously Wink
Massage can help too, is it do-able?

My physio said cold at first, then warm. Are you having physio? I also find ibuprofen gel really good for muscle pain.

If it's really bad, diclofenac is pretty good - you need to get it on prescription but when I slipped a disc in my neck, 50mg codeine + diclofenac left me pretty much pain free.

It sounds really painful - poor you!

Ty ,

mornings is by far the worse think as can only lie in one postion at night .When wake can barley move.

Yay can dispense with the peas then

The worse of the pain is round my hip joint almost in it ifykwim when try to rub over it want to scream and towards my rather large backside rather than in the thigh it's self

Resting seems to make it worse go very stiff and sore, still can't sit down on that side as it hurts :( though can bend down once I got going throughout the day

No physio either dr who has not seen just talked to on the phone prescribed codeine told me to give it another week if no better to come see and he might refer

though finding the codeine was not making to much of a differance still could hardly sit down when on it have to stand up which is getting to be s right pita.So have stopped the codeine as was making me sleepy and having the sweats ,Am still taking the ibrpufen

How long do you think should leave it before demanding appointment know dr said can take 2-3 weeks to feel better ,but fed up of not being able to sit down and makes no differance how have my leg weather I'm sat properly with legs together or leg up on couch leg straight or bent it hurts :(

Kneeling does not hurt so much had to kneel on floor yo read bedtime story to ds3 last night can't even sit on bed :( am fed up of having to slide backwards of my bed then grit teeth while turn leg round so then can push up

the sooner you get the correct exercises from the physio the sooner you can try and prevent the muscle tear from healing in the wrong position.
