OUR 3YR OLD DD WAS SICK AND HAD RUNNY POO LAST NIGHT, WE ARE DUE TO GO TO MAJORCA TUES MORNING, IT IS OUR FIRST HOLIDAY FOR 5 YRS, IF SHE IS O.K I THINK WE SHOULD STILL GO BUT WE ARE ALSO TAKING OUR 1YR OLD DS, WHAT IF HE GETS ILL NEXT? IT COST US £1000 AND IT IS ONLY FOR 1 WEEK!
BUT DO PLANES AND SICK CHILDREN MIX? WOULD FEEL GUILTY FOR OTHER PASSENGERS TOO!

How is she this morning. If it was a one off sick and poo incident I would still go. She may be nervous about the holiday?
I wouldn't go on a plane if there were fevers, projectile vomiting or contagious diseases...otherwise, I wouldn't cancel the holiday just stock up with half of Boots!

If it was us - we would GO! Dh doesn't cancel holidays for ANYTHING - which is usually a good thing but sometimes I wonder what WOULD make him reconsider.

We run a pub and once, the day before we were due to go on a cruise, the head barman we were leaving in charge in our absence who had recently gone through a difficult relationship break up, rang us at 2am to say he was on a train home to Cornwall and wouldn't ever come back! HELP!! Did we cancel the hol???? Not dh - we went, the other staff all rallied round to keep the pub going and the head barman reappeared a few days later. WOW!

Is she better today ? Hopefully she has slept it off. Could well just be a bit too much sun rather than a bug.

We've travelled with ds with diahorrhea but stayed with family so not as isolating as a hliday abroad. It wasn't much fun, especially since he needed to go when the drinks were being served on the plane so he had to be lifted to air hostess who just dumped him in the loo alone, aged 4, and the inevitable upset followed, but as long as they aren't also being sick and getting dehyrated she'll probably be ok. If it is still going on today you may have more of a problem and perhaps ring gp for advice.

Offer only really bland food later on and plenty of fluids, preferably the dehyration sort for the next few days. You could get some anti travel sick pills from the chemist to take with you just in case.

Hope you have a nice time.

i would still go , just take medicines with us, calpol, diarolite(?sp) etc, kids are usually only ill for 24-48 hours with these things so shouldn't have too much of an effect on your holiday.

on way back from crete last year ds2 developed a raging temp at the airport, we got on the plane and he promptly threw up all over me on take off! luckily i had spare clothes in my bag so we just got changed and i put ds2 into his pj's (night flight), not the best of experiences, with cramped aeroplane toilets etc but the staff were v helpful and let us get changed in the cabin crew area rather than squashing into the loo.

i would go definatley, don't feel too guilty about other passengers, you'll probably find if it isn't your children being ill it will be some badly behaved children causing a riot or some other distraction.
