Very very heavy period (TMI)

Hi,

Was just looking for a little reassurance if possible.

I went on the mini pill six weeks after ds3 was born eight months ago. Haven't had a period since then. About a month ago i had a nasty tooth abcess and was on seveal courses of antibiotics. I was advised by GP not to bother taking pill whilst on antib's and for a fortnight after as it wouldn't work, so came off it. GP said to start taking pill again on fist day of next period.

So, period started poperly last sunday - had been spotting heavily for a week before - but proper 'flow' started sunday. Since then i've been bleeding very very heavily, much heavier then a normal period. I'm having to change my san pro every hour to hour and a half and it's saturated. It's got to the point where i've robbed my daughters pefold nappies and have two folded together but i'm lucky if that lasts two hours.

TBH i've forgotten what a normal period for me is like as i only had two after having my daughter before i fell pregnant with DS3. I seem to be feeling really tired all the time and am wondering if i may be a little anemic.

Anyway, do you think i should be bothering my doctor with this? Or is it normal?

Please visit your GP asap to get this checked out properly. In any event spotting between periods should always be investigated further to ascertain the cause.

hate to say this but you could have been PG and it could be a miscarriage.

Go to A&E for scan or GP tomorrow first thing?

TBH i hadn't even considered that i could have been pregnant and had a miscarraige. It's a small possibility i suppose. Will definately be going to the doctor on Monday though.
