MMR Jab for Me - after giving birth - Anyone else had this?

I had a phone call from my doctor this evening. My blood test shows that although I am postive for my rubella - it's weak - so she has says that after I give birth, I will need to have an MMR jab.

She thinks it's OK for me if i'm planning to breast feed - but i was just wondering if anyone else had been in this situation - and can juts reassure me it'll be ok. Blush I'm not worried- i mean, i know the doctor is talking sense, but just would rather had some reassurance from someone who's been there!

Hi - yes I had this after the birth of DS, as I was found to be non rubella immune during pregnancy. I had to go to the GP and was given the MMR during my 6 week check, my sister on the other hand was given hers in the delivery suite almost immediately after delivering her baby. No mention was made of it interfering with breastfeeding to either of us ad neither of us had any ill effects. HTH Smile

I waited until my baby was quite a lot older for mine, but he was feeding. I was pretty unwell after mine - managed to have every "mild" reaction going. That's quite unusual, though, and most people are fine. I just felt really shite and had a couple of days where I had to call on friends to help with my toddler - not worse than that.

I had it before I was discharged from hospital. BF DD with no apparent ill-effects.
