What to do about the pill? Sex drive related

I have been on loestrin 20 for three months and before that was on loestrin 30 for a couple of months. I like that Inow have my pre DD boobs back but Ihave put on weight everywhere which is not helping things but the most annoying issue I have with the pill is sex is just not the same now.

I have just had a look through old threads and thre is lots of talk about sex drive but this is sighty different I think, in that it isnt that Idon't want to have sex, it is just almost impossible to fully enjoy it-it just isn't the same now.

I wondered whether the mini pill would bebetter? But reading through old threads it seems maybe not? I thought maybe if I was at least ovulating my body would be more interested in sex?

im taking a mini and its no better - i seem to have lost sensation and sex drive - great combination. plus im bleeding daily and have been for 5 months. yesterday i decided to stop taking it. i guess its horses for courses - there may be one thats more suited to you but it will be trial and error. im giving up - dh has the snip booked for oct. ill use condoms until he gets the all clear!

Yes its sensation I have lost. I can fee the point at which previously it woud have felt great then more often than not nothing happens. Its rubbish. I am in a fairly new relationship (under a year anyway) and I think the pill has stopped all the exciting feelings for my boyfriend too, its a bit like having pmt for three weeks every month. He said today about a vasecomy actually but after having another child (I have one DD from previous relationship).Don't blame you anyway, so much nicer to just not have to be hormonal. I had a coil but got constant infections so had it removed. Also have iron deficiency from constant bleeding whilstt I had the coil, this contraception business is tricky sometimes.

Have you looked into the copper coil? It's hormone free...

I had the copper coil, and I am not sure if it was the way it was fitted (it wasnt while I was on my period and was extremely painful) but had serious problems with it and for the three months I was on it, had strong anti biotics for almost all of that time. It was so bad that the fpc refused to give me any more and said I needed an ivestigation- went to the GP, she took out the coil and have had no infections since. All a bit disappointing though as th.e no hormones realy appealed.

I wonder why the mini pill affects libido? If it just thickens mucus rather than stopping ovulation you would think it would be fine but lots of people seem to have the same issues with it. I was on femulen before I had DD (in fact got pg due to not taking it very well) and I can't remember whether it did affect my sex life or not.
