Has anyone else had trouble receiving the single mumps vaccine? We opted for the single jabs of mmr for our daughter when she was 13months old. She is now 3 years old and still waiting for the mumps. By which time we have just been informed she now needs the mmr booster!

Hi all, I am new so bare with me!

We freaked out about MMR for our DS1 so opted for single measles jab and now dont know what to do as ben told single mumps doesnt exist anymore. So we have t go single rubella and then MMR to give him mumps part. But we are worried he'd be havin two doses of measles - can anyone offer advice!

There is no cumulative adverse effects from doubling up on any of the MMR components.

So it's no worse to get it twice than once.

But of course there are small risks are you are going to be repeating the exposure.

So I have to ask why you are going to go get the single rubella if you intend to get the MMR after?

Tell that to my dead cousin.

She was vaccinated with Rubella at 16, complications set in within days (rubella rash, aches and pains) within weeks she was paralysed from the neck down and blind. She died a few months ago at 42.

It's easy to say it's safe when it's so hard to prove the amount of people who have been damaged and can't prove it through all the red tape.

Even my poor Aunt and Uncle were pushed aside and totally ignored.
