Ask for more information on what you can do to help yourself. This condition can vary in its severilt but whatever 'level' you are on you want to limit progression as much as possible.

BIL was sent to a local patient group that helped. As others have said exercise is very important, he swims and says that it helps him.

hey, misdee, need to get yourself off to the SWIMMING POOL, hun.

Could you use any of the Peter money to pay for someone to babysit your clan for 1) GP appointment ASAP. 2) misdee to local pool to SWIM 20 LENGTHS in 1/2 HOUR !!!!!!!!!

Hope you're feeling a little better, and that with a bit more information on your side, and maybe some proper treatment for this things start to look up.

i used to do 50 lengths!!

once dd2 is at pre-school and i have apssed my test, then i can go swimming twice a week, the pool has a lovely creche, i used it when i only had one child and peter worked across the rd (used to get a bus there, swim for an hour, then meet him from work)

Hey Misdee, only just seen this (I'm so bored I searched for my name )

DH has AS (and psoriatic arthritis too) so if I can be of any help or you have any questions ask away

.. exercise is fab for AS (use it or lose it mentality)

progression is highly personal you may well be one of those people who just gets neck spasms occasionally for the rest of your life
