Got a minging cold. Why do my eyes hurt?

Do you mean that there is no sticky discharge?

If you've had the cold for a few days it's possible you have viral conjunctivitis.

This would be give you red and itchy eyes with a watery discharge.

Treatment is palliative, cold compresses and analgesics for any discomfort but it's quite contagious so you may want to be careful sharing towels etc.

You should visit your optician to be sure.

Can't make it stop, but here's some sympathy. I've had something very fluey for the past few days, seems very unfair in August but so does your cold.
