Toothache cures?

I have raging toothache.
been to the dentist who says i may need a root filling but need antibiotics first.
i've started them this aftrenoon and have bought 'paramol' which is paracetemol and dihdrocodeine.
it is still throbbing!!!
help

have you get any ideas what i can try?
plaese?

Be firm AQ remember you pay her salary. Perhaps it's a power thing too! The last time I went to make an appointment receptionists were not the DOCTORS (they just make you think of them as gods (wink)!

cloves are horrendous in the mouth, they actually burn the flesh, they don't do anything helpful, don't use(!).

Tea tree oil is ok as a mild antiseptic/anaesthetic (these are proven properties). But best thing is to get to the dentst.

i didn't realise toothache could make you feel poorly!

i am going to spend the day doing very little. i am seeing the GP at 10am so hopefully he will give me something stronger and i am going to ask for a stronger antibiotic too as after 2 days of the other one there is NO improvement.

GP doubled my antibiotic dose, gave co-codamol and a stronger anti-inflamatory than neurofen.

took the painkillers at 11 ish and it hasn't touched the pain.

hi roisin...are you ok? cou;ldn't sleep?

thnaks for remembering me but i'm no better really. i was in agony yesterday evening despite being tanked up with the pain killers. slept OK til 5 when i got up and took more PK. i am going to ring dentist at 9 and see what he says; have i just got to put up with it until the infection goes???
