about 18m ago I had a lump in my breast that turned out to be a cyst. I knew it would be nothing, my gp found it.

last night i found a lump myself. its only v small. same size as a small pea. doesnt hurt and the skin around it has an odd texture. its in the soft tissue area that joins the breast to the armpit iykwim.

im freaking out a bit tbh. dont know whether to go to docs, my teitzes has been v bad so it feels like ive lived there the last few weeks. ive been so unlucky with my health that i almost dont want to get it checked out iykwim.

i know i have to go, but im a bit scared.

Please please please go! The chances are it's nothing to worry about, but if it is something to worry about, then the quicker it's caught the better.

I've been there, and I thank my lucky stars it was caught early, else I wouldn't be here now.

go, your feel better for it no use sticking head in the sand. Could be something could be nothing but you wont know that till you get checked out.
Let us know how you get on x

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 24/08/2010 09:06

thank you both. i know i have to go, but im a bit freaked out. last time i kind of assumed it would be ok, because you only ever have one health problem at a time right? Hmm this time (probably because i found it myself) im really worried. although it is only a very small lump. but im mid cycle so its unlikely to be hormonal

lol why the name change?? TBH DH could be alot better we were told the other week the current treatment isnt working so now been referred elsewhere for further idea's of treatment, now we wait to see what they say but his doing well within himself and staying positive.

Right you must go and get checked, I had one a few months back and it was a infected hair folical, all fine after antibotics. pppllease go

TitsalinaBumSquash · 24/08/2010 09:21

I had a small hard lump in the same place as you, it was very mobile and lite a dried Pea.
It was a cyst its still there now.

PLease go asap and put your mind a rest.

weegiemum · 24/08/2010 09:24

Please go to the doctor! My dh is a GP and he sees so many people who put their heads in the sand and didn't get seen early enough and either go through loads more treatment than they should have had to, or who sadly don't make it.

Size isn't important - every lump like that shoudl be checked out!

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 24/08/2010 09:30

ok, i will see if i can get an appointment. may as well fecking live there these days!

lisa, sorry to hear about dh Sad it must be horrible. namechanged because i wanted to move away from "the poster with all the mc's" and start afresh iykwim?

Lulumaam · 24/08/2010 09:37

yoiu must go , chick. xx chances are it will e b nothing , but you need a doctor to tell you that

SkylineDrifter · 24/08/2010 09:55

TheLady, I couldn't feel mine, it was found on a mammogram, which is why I say I thank my lucky stars, cos it would have been huge by the time I'd felt it. It was right back on the chest wall, about as far from the nipple as you can get, and I have quite big boobs, so that's why I couldn't feel it. I'm told it was about two centimetres in size. I'd a lumpectomy, had the lymph nodes underarm removed (to check if it had spread), then chemo and radiotherapy. Have mammogram every two years now (this was ten years ago) to keep tabs on things, and, fingers crossed, have had no recurrence. Unfortunately am battling lymphoma at the moment, but am looking at a positive outlook for that too!

Anyway, get to the doctor, get it checked!! Best of luck to you.

I second the get thee to a doctor - and good luck!

And good luck to you too, SkylineDrifter. Keep that positive end in sight.
