Overdue smear, bleeding after sex and might be pg.

Hi, Just looking for a bit of advice, I came off the pill at the beggining of July because we wanted to start trying for our 2nd baby. For the last few weeks I have been bleeding after sex, not like a period, just a little bit of red blood for 1-2 days. I cant be sure if it has got worse since coming off the pill.
Just to make things more confusing I've just realised my smear test is overdue and there is also a chance I might be pregnant. So... do I book a doctors appointment, discuss everything with him and see what he says or book in for a smear test with the nurse and tell her about the bleeding or wait until I know if I am pregnant before booking in with anyone?

I would go to your GP, as he/she can do a smear and refer if necessary.

Agree, see your GP first, don't book in for a smear test. Although you're due for a cervical screening test it may not be appropriate in your circumstances; as a smear is only a screening test for people without symptoms, and you have symptoms.
The bleeding could be due to stopping the pill and the change in hormone levels but it probably needs further investigation.
