I have just been put on to a new pill Marvelon as my prevouis pill Micronong 30ED (sp?)I think was causing me to be down and moody ect...

Trouble is i have just read the leaflet and it says this is a "low dose" pill. Does this mean i am more likley to get pg???

I really dont want this to happen and would rather feel down tbh

What are other peoples experiances on this pill?
Also has anyone become pg on Marvelon??

I did! I don't think the low does has anything to do with it and I'd taken it for 14 years without any problems.
The only side effect I had on it was a bit of weight gain and bigger boobs!

I was on it for 10 years with no side effects, no problems and no concerns.

It was on the "high risk" pills a few years ago, where your chances of getting DVT were higher with this pill than with others if you were a smoker/overweight etc.

Unfortunately for me after I had dd (planned, and not a fault of the pill!) I had a number of side effects, the worst being the mood swings/headaches and lethargy during my pill free week.

I am now on a different pill, but I do miss marvelon Grin

I was on it for 6 months, but it triggered DVT in me - I developed literally hundreds of clots!

However, bizarrely I really miss it - it suited me well (other than almost killing me, obviously!) Grin

It's called low dose because it was one of the `third generation' of combined oral contraceptives which contained a much lower dose of hormones than the older pills. It should be just as effective at preventing pg as higher dose pills but as knee high says it was on the list of pills that carries a higher risk of DVT than some of the others so you should be vigilant about the symptoms of DVT while you are taking it.
