My mum was diagnosed with mouth cancer a month ago.
She had her operation two weeks ago and apparently she had the biggest tumour in the mouth that the doctors had seen. They didn't expect her to make it and neither did her GP; but she did!

She's on the mend, walking and talking and arguing with the nurses!

This is amazing considering she had two thirds of her tongue removed and rebuilt with flesh from her arms. She also had her lympth nodes removed, and flesh from her tummy was used to build up her wrists.

I'm so proud of her!

Congratulations and good luck - 5 years ago my mother was diagnosed with bladder cancer which had spread into her lymph glands and was inoperable - "realistically we're not looking at a cure" they said.

She is in remission and has been moved to annual scans fom 6 monthly this year. HSe is one of only 5% who survive more than 2 years which this kind of cancer.

Hurrah for surviving cancer!

That is fantastic !

A few months ago I found my dad Cheyne Stoking, called an ambulance and he was air lifted into hospital. When we got there, he was in a coma, and the consultant said to Mum and I prepare yourselves for the worse he is very sick, in a coma and we can't get him to wake up.

3 days later he woke up and made a full recovery. It was pneumonia.

I feel like my Dad has come back from the dead. I sometimes find myself watching him in wonderment. Its like every day with him now is a gift, we are so lucky. He is playing with his granchildren and living life to the full.

I'm so pleased for you and your mum.
