I had 2 suspected gallbladder attacks over a month ago. I had pain when breathing in, back pain and pain in stomach and under the rib. I considered going to A&E at the time as I thought I had a problem with my heart or lungs. No severe problems since although I have had some pain in my stomach and below my right rib. I am 5 stone overweight but have recently lost about 2 stone on Slimming World. Had a baby 10 months ago, am on the pill. So, I meet many of the criteria for having gallstones. The GP referred me for a scan. I have just been scanned and informed that I do not have gallstones. I may have had them previously according to the ultrasound tech but they are gone now. What I apparently do have is a "folded" gallbladder. She said that this was very common after pregnancy. I have to see the docs next week to discuss the scans but I am confused. I am still getting pain under my ribcage and the top of my stomach and I am still getting discomfort lasting for ages if I eat anything vaguely fatty. I had a salad and fat free yoghurt for lunch today and still experiencing that discomfort. Has anyone else had this? I am at my wit's end with this and I am fed up of feeling sick. I have had problems with IBS in the past with pain at the top and bottom of my stomach. Most of the pain now is at the top of my stomach. I have realised that I have spent a good part of 4 years just feeling generally sick and under the weather and I need this to change. I thought losing weight would help but it has just exacerbated my symptoms. Please give your words of advice MNers!
