How could DS have injured his foot like this?

DS (22mo) has somehow grazed all along one side of one foot, and a bit on the end of his toe. I only noticed it properly today, and it looks a couple of days old like it's healing up now. We were at a bbq on Saturday and he walked around barefoot whilst there, also briefly riding on little trikes etc, (he prefers to push things than ride) but I don't remember noticing it then, and then he was with his Dad on the Sunday (we are not together) and came back from there with a bump on his head, which XP said was from falling off the bed. I wasn't worried about this as he was acting normal and it's his age to be be haing accidents etc but it seemed to me more like he'd hit his head on something rather than falling off something, unless the bedroom had a very hard floor (have not been to XP's house). XP is known to lie about things anyway. But I guess he could have fallen against a bedside table or something.

Erm anyway, that was a bit long! I just wondered what might cause a nastly (slightly swollen still, but DS does not mind me touching) graze along the side of a foot?

I have no idea but the underlying thought seems to be you are worried your ex has hurt your son?

I don't know - I would certainly like to be able to rule it out. Mainly though I am just curious what could have caused this kind of injury.

I forgot to mention in the OP that lately DS has taken to putting his feet on the ground when in the buggy - but I've only ever noticed him doing it when wearing shoes. If he was doing it without shoes would that cause it do you think?

Does it look like a drag graze?

BertieBotts · 27/07/2010 19:16

I have no idea, how would I tell?

Could have been. But I would have noticed, surely, if he'd injured himself and been in a lot of pain at the party? The garden was not that big, he never went out of earshot of me at all.

Perhaps he was riding a trike at XP's and did the same thing but XP didn't notice it to mention to me at handover?
