I used Nair facial stuff on my face. (oddly enough)

It didn't sting and it didn't go red. When I removed and then rinsed with plain water suddenly the whole area was burning.

It has been over 24 hours now and my skin feels numb in places. No redness but it feels like it does when you have an anaesthetic at the dentist.

Will it go or have I permanently injured myself?

I was only meaning to apply to my jawline where my baby hair has taken over a bit since pregnancy, but got carried away and applied to chin, top lip, etc. I never even had a moustache.

Oh dear - no I don't think you've done yourself permanent damage. Nair is quite a strong chemical to dissolve the hair proteins, and it can do the same to skin as well, so you've probably just given yourself a mild chemical burn and taken the top layer of skin off, so the underlayers are feeling exposed. Make sure everything is definitely rinsed off properly, but if there's no more redness I think your skin will start to recover soon.

put burn cream on it ASAP, get yourself to a pharmacy and tey will recommend some good stuff.

oh
is that what a chemical burn feels like then?

When I googled and read about chemical burns from such products I expected peeling and raging red skin.

DS has chicken pox so was avoiding trips out but not a huge prob to go to local pharmacy for cream if that's what is needed

Thanks

99% Aloe vera gel is lovely and soothing for any facial probs. Also olive oil or a mix of one drop t tree oil and tabspoon warm water.
