Have had these (prolapse of bladder and bowel) since birth of DD1 5 years ago. 2 babies later am pg with DC4, but am only 10 weeks. The thing is, my fanjo is incredibly swollen and engorged, and basically the top and bottom part of my vagina are almost pushing their way out. And I'm really sore and uncomfortable.

This is the point I realise I should have namechanged and put TMI in the title, right?

Realistically, is there any point in bothering my GP? Have seen an ob/gyn who said ooh, yes you poor thing, that looks really uncomfortable but no point booking you in for a repair until you've finished your family (fair enough, no argument with that!) and she wouldn't consider a ring pessary in pregnancy. So, be blunt with me, am I stuck with just putting up with this? MW is great, but hardly think she could add anything useful to this.

And why is it so swollen and "heavy" when I am only ten weeks pregnant? It felt as bad as this at 37 weeks last time, not ten weeks.

If you've made it this far, thank you.

Sorry- I do feel for you- had a repair after DC2 was born.

If your dr has discounted a ring, then I can't see what else you can do. I don't know why he/she has discounted this- it would be worth asking for a referral to another gynae as they all have differing opinions- I saw 3 drs including 2 gynaes before the last one agreed I had prolapse, albeit not major.

If there is nothing they can do now what about the delivery? Can you have an elective Caesar?

i just wanted to sympathise, really, i had pain like that after dd1 was born and it was intolerable. tbh i wouldn't stop at the gp, i'd push for more help, but i don't know what's out there... hope you can find someone to help and congratulations on your pregnancy.
