I think you ought to see a podiatrist for proper advice.

Yes I was going to suggest seeking the help of a podiatrist. I have quite a few toe/ feet problems and now wear orthotics ( special insoles) to keep further wear and tear to a minimum. Its rather pricey.

Is it the toe joint where it meets your foot>
If so, my DH has this. hehad anop 9 months back- they open up your toe -long scar to nail, then file down the inflamed and enlarged bone.

He was in hos. overnight and back running after 3 weeks.

As for a referral to an expert- not soemthing you want to live with- he was in a lot of pain.

I have arthritis in my toes and ankles & other areas. It probably sounds odd but I find Fitflops very comfortable to wear. My physio looked at them and thought they were good - had the right support etc. Maybe give them or a cheaper alternative a try?

I had a little bit of arthritis in my toe which disappeared since I've been taking quarter tsp bicarb of soda with juice of half a lemon twice a day on empty stomach you wait for the bubbles to die down before drinking.

Generally arthritis is due to over acidification of the body so less orange juice, vinegar, tea, coffee alcohol, meat, etc.Hence the bicarb which is alkili.
