Well 18 month has gone by and thought I should update again. Sorry to say we had a call today to say DH drugs arent working We were so hopeful, but seems its slowed to a stop in battling the cancer in the blood
We are due to go and see specialist on 4th Aug, but could mean next step is Bone marrow transplant, so anyone not joined please do. DH will have no family matches.

I'm so sorry to hear this Lisa. Unfortunately I'm not able to donate bone marrow or blood. I hope you can find a match soon.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 21/07/2010 14:32

So sorry to hear this.

I though I'd signed up to this when I was at University, but I have rung and I am not on the register so have just signed up.

I will badger DH to do the same.

Hope your DH gets a match very soon if the consultant decides that is what he needs.

agalchchangedhername · 21/07/2010 16:46

Have joined the Register so will await my salivia kit arriving!!

hobbgoblin · 21/07/2010 16:47

I can do it so am just about to sign up too. Will ask friends too when I see them.

The form didn't ask me this but as someone mentioned drug allergy, does this mean that me being allergic to penicillin will be preventative?

hobbgoblin · 21/07/2010 16:47

Gosh, forgot to offer my sympathies to you LisaD

You might have already done this and / or it might not be your thing but have you thought of setting up a page on facebook? Just to raise awareness?

Quality · 21/07/2010 18:46

Oh Lisa, so sorry, this has kcikstarted me to go on the B and donate platelets which will be hassle for me but r4eading this shows how worth it it can be.

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 21/07/2010 19:24

You can sign up now, waitingforbedtime -- you might well not be able to donate while pregnant but they don't seem bothered about it for going on the register.

waitingforbedtime · 21/07/2010 19:41

excellent thanks

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 21/07/2010 21:56
