Farage- Disgusting

Farage today, kissing 'a supporter' on a walkabout. This is so inappropriate, and disgusting.Surely it is a set-up?

He is crass, always gets the boundaries wrong in what he sats and does and he turns my stomach. I can't believe people find him credible.

I laughed so hard at the thread title. Anyone else?

Er, no....

Anniegetyourgun · 05/06/2024 09:01

I do agree with the title, but the picture doesn't prove the point. A consensual peck is not a bad thing. Wouldn't touch him with someone else's barge pole m'self, but that's not me, it's a woman who appears to be quite happy about it. It's under the heading of "each to their own" rather than "how dare he". Now please don't post gross stuff like that again, I could have been eating.

A publicity stunt for some only fans model

DistinguishedSocialCommentator · 05/06/2024 10:06

I dont like the man, but he does appear yo have a following and is very charismatic unlike the Labour clown judging by last nights 'live tv deabte.'

IMO, Farage is dangerous as he has a way with words where as most of the right wing don't. IE he is more believable, IMO

Zonder · 05/06/2024 14:55

Well as they say, Hitler was charismatic and had a following but that's not what defines a good leader.

pantsalot · 05/06/2024 15:09

As much as I dislike what he stands for assault is wrong on every level

Naran · 05/06/2024 15:16

It’s a weird photo/action for sure.

The disgusting comments about Nigel Farage epitomise what is wrong with so much in this Country. He should not be subjected to the milkshake attack by the moronic woman who I hope gets her just deserts in Court. As for the doctored pictures on the thread, I really wish people would do their research. Love him or loathe him, he speaks his mind, he is spot on the pulse of the corruption in the Labour and Conservative parties and is a staunch patriot. If you despise the UK so much, question what you are doing living here!

Topseyt123 · 05/06/2024 15:48

He just makes me want to puke. How the fuck could anyone want to kiss him??

To whoever threw the milkshake, what a waste of good milkshake!!

He's a racist.

A staunch patriot? Five minutes ago he was patriotically running off to the US to campaign for Trump until the guilty verdict.

Seymour5 · 05/06/2024 15:56

I hope Reform get enough votes to shake up Labour and the Conservatives. After over 50 years of voting, not always the same way, I'm just fed up with politics. I think the major parties would be worried if we had PR.

I agree with the title 'Disgusting' as chucking the milkshake certainly was. Puerile too.

I have said to DH we should leave but he won't. His parents and grandma live near us and he won't leave. I'd go tomorrow. This country is finished. It is inhabited by so many selfish, greedy, small-minded people who feel entitled to everything and want to put nothing back. They either care nothing for social fairness or the people most affected by inequality, or alternatively think they should be handed everything on a plate with no effort or contribution from them. People are lazy and take sickness absence days from idleness.
They don't care what we are doing to nature and the environment. Businesses are greedy and exploitative. People have voted repeatedly for a government that has broken our public services and social infrastructures- health, education, adult social care, water, gas, electricity by means of deprivation of funding or by privatisation which has resulted in neglect and asset stripping while paying billions of dividends to already very wealthy owners. The country is broken and we have not the nation that is prepared to contribute and work to fix it.
Racism is rife, misogyny is rife, the rich are getting richer and the poor poorer.

Did you mean Demosthenes?

I agree about the milkshake- she should be charged. However, his kissing female supporters is disgusting. He's inappropriate and has his own agenda. He is to blame for a great deal of Brexit.
Farage was happy to stick his snout into the Euro MEP trough and live very comfortably off it for 21 years despite his 'Euroscepticism'.
He supports lower taxes for higher earners and excuses tax avoidance by the very wealthy.
He has supported far-right candidates in other countries including National Front in France and spoken at a far-right rally in Germany.
He has said he supports the legalisation of guns in the UK.
His remarks about migrants are inflammatory at best and racist at worst. He has been accused of stirring up social unrest with his comments on many occasions.
He does not support same-sex marriage and has supported remarks re:Conversion therapy.
He has said people with HIV should not be allowed to enter Britain- that the NHS wastes money treating them.
He does not support any climate change or environmental policies that would improve things- he's up for any exploitation of the planet that makes money for the wealthy.

I think he's very good at seeing things that are wrong in politics and highlighting them. He has a way with words that can make him sound clear-sighted and, at times, reasonable. However, racism, right-wing anger , scare-mongering and aggression are just below the surface of all of it.
Unfortunately, he has absolutely no broad political, fair views about how to re-build this country in a way that rebuilds it for the benefit of all its citizens. He is simply a scare-monger.

He has been unable to win any election in this country, so far, apart from, ironically, as a UKIP MEP- and he has stood in plenty.

The fact that he has chosen to associate himself with the ideas and causes he has, as well as with :
UKIP
The Brexit Party
The Reform Party

Marine Le Pen
Aaron Banks (who funded him)
Donald Trump

Not liking Farage or his dog-whistle racist politics doesn't mean I despise the UK.

Iwasafool · 05/06/2024 19:17

Did anyone see him denying this was his 8th attempt to become an MP? He must be like Trump and think if he says things enough they become the truth.

beguilingeyes · 06/06/2024 11:02

He says that he wants to 'take over' the Conservative Party. This is straight from the Trump playbook and mildly terrifying.
Why bother to start a new party when you can just insert yourself into an established one and drag it to the right with your populist nonsense. It's more or less what Johnson did x 10.

It’s not mildly terrifying, it’s severely terrifying. He’s incredibly dangerous.

LlynTegid · 06/06/2024 11:36

If it was not consensual I agree it is disgusting. If it was it is in poor taste.

However, anyone of you who voted Tory in 2019 thought it was acceptable to have a Prime Minister who received oral sex in his office.

Lovepeaceunderstanding · 06/06/2024 11:54

I’m voting Reform. I know many people who are among which are those with degrees, masters degrees and medical degrees. Just in case you assume we’re an uneducated bunch. I wouldn’t fancy snogging Nigel though, he smokes and his teeth are awful. 😂

Yes this is on the money. He will find a succession of Tories to support him. The gargoyle MPs that attached themselves to Johnson’s Brexit Tories are probably candidates for this new “consensus” on the right.

I hate politics but kind of like Nig - especially when he triggers the more delicate minds of the interwebs.
