Are there any records kept does anyone know of children who were evacuated, where they went, to what families etc. I didn't know my dad really (he died when i was 50 and I'd love to try and make some contacts with things / people from his past.

Any tips/ideas gratefully received.

TIA

Hi, i know your post was a long time ago. Is Fazakerley near Liverpool, i.e. on the borders of Lancashire? Some records of evacuees can be traced through regional archives but try also specialist research groups, e.g. the Evacuees Archive held at the uni of Reading. I can't quite trace it properly but try this website (which gives details) www.recollectionsofwwii.co.uk/page4.htm#EVA, or this page www.reading.ac.uk/education/about/staff/m-l-parsons.aspx.
HTH - you've probably already got there by now!
