How do I go about trying to find a death record in England of someone who I'm not sure where they died?

Another question to all you genealogy wizz kids...say I found a death certificate with the correct name and year of birth, how would I then be able to decifer if it was the right person?

possibly by the informants name, last address - it might be the same as the last address in the census (address is used a lose term, street name would be more precise in some census thats all you'll get) or same address as in last electoral register.

Thats part of the reason, if I can I use probate as they have far more information and added to which they give more of an insight into the person when you read the will if you order a copy.

What if you don't know the person who registered the death or what the person's last known address was? Is it able to decipher then?

Does this apply to Scottish records too?

You would use resources to find the deceased last known address, census to 10 years k eR records if applicable.

death certificate aren’t great for information though, and the information is from someone else, so you’re reliant on their knowledge. It’s why as posted up thread I prefer probate if possible
